How do I take care of my brows after the treatment?
Microblading aftercare is absolutely essential for a good result. During your initial treatment, your microblading specialist will explain you everything you have to do. Here a list of the most important instructions:
The first hour
After one hour, you should use a cotton with clean warm water to clean your brows, very gently.
The first week
During the first 3 days, you should again clean your brows gently with a wet cotton, 3 times per day.
If you have dry skin type, before going to bed you should use the skincare cream provided by the eyebrow specialist. You should use only a very small amount of skincare cream, and the tube provided is made to last for 3 days.
If your skin type is oily or sensitive, there is no need for this skincare.
After shower or bath, avoid using a regular towel to dry your face and brows. You should use a clean tissue.
If after 3 or 4 days you feel itchy, do not scratch your brows. The excess of ink, that becomes dry, is normal and should go away by itself. When you eyebrows start scabbing, do not peel or pick at the scabs as this can affect the outcome and pigmentation.Your skin under is finishing to heal.
In first four weeks
No swimming, tanning or sauna visits, no makeup, and also: no face scrubs, face massage or chemical peels. They will all cause your microbladed brows to fade faster.
How long does it take to heal?
Microblading healing takes about 1 to 2 weeks. After the first session, the surface of the brows will quickly heal. After about 4 weeks the skin tissue inside the brow will be completely healed too.
Right after the first treatment your brows will look a bit red and (too) dark. Don’t worry, the colour will fade by up to 40%. You will notice slight scabbing, do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color after about 3 weeks, as it heals. After about 6 weeks, you can come back for the microblading touch-up.
Most people report little or no pain during microblading, but everyone experiences pain differently. Some people describe the feeling of microneedles in their skin like light cat scratches or papercuts. After the microblading treatment, you might experience redness and slight swelling - most people describe it as a feeling similar to a light sunburn.
Microblading is not to be confused with eyebrow blading or eyebrow embroidery. It is a form of semi-permanent make-up, that is becoming very popular all over the world. Microblading artists use a specialized hand tool to insert pigment in featherlike strokes, just under the skin. The results of the treatment are perfect, natural-looking brows, regardless of the amount of brow hair you have yourself.

Why do people microblade their brows?
Eyebrows are the most important feature of the face: they hightlight our eyes, define our looks and influence the way others see us. Microblading eyebrows is ideal for anyone who wants to enhance the look of their eyes, without any daily effort. For example: people with sparse or light eyebrows, people who want to save time in their make-up routine, or people who are not happy with the shape or thickness of their brows. And anyone else who wants beautifully shaped, natural looking brows.
Is microblading for men too?
Absolutely! Microblading for men creates well-shaped, manly brows that are more masculine than your own. You will have a stronger, more powerful appearance, done in a way that is invisible to others. The results of microblading for men will be subtle, adding boldness without looking obvious or feminine. Read more about microblading for men
Is microblading the same as tattooing eyebrows?
No. Microblading is a form of semi-permanent make-up, which means the pigments will fade in about 18 months. The pigments are inserted with tiny needles in the upper layers of the skin, not as deep as regular tattoos. The ink is also specially developed for microblading and different from tattoo ink. The whole treatment is done by hand, not with a tattoo machine. The result are natural looking brows, not one continuous eyebrow line as is often the case with regular tattoos.
I have no brows at all, can microblading help me?
Yes. In most cases, microblading can give you the illusion of real brows even if yours are completely absent. Whether your own eyebrows are sparse, you’ve over-plucked them or suffer from a medical condition. For personal advice, make an appointment with our eyebrow specialist.
How long does a microblading treatment take?
Microblading is a two-step process: the initial procedure and the microblading touch up. The first session will take about 2,5 hours. After 6 weeks, you will need to do a touch up. This second session takes about 1.5 - 2 hours.
Do I really need a touch-up?
Yes! It is a part of the process, and included in the price. Beforehand, it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment. You will need the touch-up to refine the shape and add more definition. Read more about touch ups here.
How long does it last?
Microblading lasts for about 18 months, depending on your skin and lifestyle. You can do additional touch ups to extend the duration of the treatment.
Is it safe?
Yes. It is for a good reason that Timi is named after the Vietnamese word for ‘meticulous’. We take all precautions for a safe session by using a new set of microneedles and sterilized equipment every time, and we always work in a sanitized environment.
If you follow our aftercare instructions, there should be minimal risks. We suggest that those sensitive to makeup products, gold, silver, nickel or hair dye take extra precautions. It is very rare, but allergic reactions can occur.
To ensure our clients and our own safety, we will not treat people with poor general health, heart problems, viral infections, epilepsy and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
